    A Family Tradition

Talita Arroyo, a native of Brownsville, Texas, met Sergeant Tony Neno Prince while he was stationed there in1944. While attending a USO dance, Tony spotted the most beautiful Mexican girl in a festive red dress. One look and he knew she would be his wife. After a family courtship, (her father and brothers went everywhere with the young couple) they married on February 12, 1944. Talita moved to Columbus, Ohio while Tony spent two years overseas on the Burma Road Mission. Tony returned to Columbus in 1946 and re-opened his Italian-American restaurant with Talita at his side. In 1968, Talita and Tony decided that the world was ready for Talita’s authentic Brownsville-style Tex-Mex cuisine from her own ‘Cocina Mexicana’ (Mexican kitchen). This adventure was the beginning of something new and wonderful. Talita’s has grown from humble beginnings to become a Columbus landmark. Each and every day until her retirement, you’d find the real and spirited Talita Arroyo-Prince and her children running the show at her area restaurants. Talita’s children (and now her grandchildren) continue to be involved in the business and carry on Talitas’ passion for authentic Brownsville Tex-Mex food & drink. Talita’s authentic recipes, handed down from her mother and grandmother, are still in use today in our restaurant. The food we serve you at Talita’s has roots going back many generations and we’re committed to making sure that every dish we serve is ‘Authentic Talita’. Tony Neno and Talita Arroyo Prince Passed on March 5th, 1982 and October 27th, 2005, respectively.
